Industrial Computer Networks

This course presents the basics of computer networks for industrial applications. Topics include networks, physical layers, mechanisms of data transmission, transport layers, communication protocols between computers, embedded systems, and industrial equipments. Examples of the communication protocols include the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), the Internet Protocol (IP) and the User Datagram Protocol (UDP). The focus of the course will be on the application of computer networks in industrial systems. PREREQ: COSC 1047 and ENGR 3577. (lec 3, lab 2) cr 3.
