Life, Work and Leisure in the Italian- Canadian Community

This course studies the patterns and dynamics of cultural life in the Italian-Canadian community. Topics include linguistic acculturation, maintenance of cultural heritage, urban colonization, education and employment. This unpaid work integrated learning placement for a period of six weeks, with an employer/student report to be submitted at the end of the term. Internship preparation and placement are guided by the course instructor, who is also responsible for securing the placement. Prereq: ITAL 1005 or permission of professor (lec 3, exp 3) cr 3
